Quirky, olde worlde hotel ideally situated to visit Canstatt old town, VFB Stuttgart and der Wasen and with easy access to Stuttgart as a whole. The room was somewhat of a surprise as it was not only large but appeared to have a dressing room! The room was old fashioned with wooden panels and old fashioned lamps. Surprising therefore that bed was so low and in some ways modern. Bed was quite firm but comfortable. Only comment is about yhe lack of plugs to charge phone. Bathroom was again a bit of a throwback to the past with the toilet paper dispenser having ridges to put cigarettes on! Be careful of hot water as was scalding. Everything was extremely clean and hotel was very quiet. Room 210 came with a balcony which was large enough to sit on. Breakfast was nicely presented and perfectly adequate for the price. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar is olde worlde-shame no one was in it. UBahn stop (Uff-Kirchhof) immediately by hotel. If going to a Vfb Stuttgart match or wanting a bolt hole if attending Fest on der Wasen would definitely stay here again as excellent value.

Perfectly located, right next to the Uff-Kirschoff stop of the U-Bahn in Bad Canstatt, with several different U-Bahn routes stopping there. We loved the free parking, as it meant we could leave the car and use the available public transport. The hotel prides itself on its character, and once we'd got over the surprise of the 1970s decor in our room, with a very modern bathroom thrown in, it made me smile. Looking at other photos, I can see that the decor varies quite a bit, so you're either going to get quirky, or more modern. The breakfast is certainly fully-laden, with all the usual Continental breakfast options, and the breakfast room has lots of different seating areas, so you're spoilt for choice. We also visited the bar (small, but well-stocked), and the prices were great, and the staff were very friendly, chatty in the right way, and we're definitely planning to stay there again the next time we're in Stuttgart.

We were very pleased with our 1-night stay at Hotel Spahr. Our room was clean, spacious, and quiet; wifi worked well; and we enjoyed the plentiful, hot and cold offerings at breakfast. The hotel's location is excellent -- directly adjacent to a U-Bahn station in Bad Canstatt, about a 10-minute ride from Stuttgart Hbf, is excellent. We also appreciated/used the hotel's free (first-come, first-served) parking. But best of all, the price was super!

This is a unique hotel. It’s a time travel back to the 70s, but in a good way. I really enjoyed the personal touch of this place and the wonderful room decor from another time. As everything was build with high standards and good quality and everything is well kept it’s not a run down place, despite its age. It’s a jewel of its kind. Stay here now, while you’re in Stuttgart, you can stay at the standardised chain hotels for the rest of your life.

The location is right next to a tram stop, literally. By tram it's only 12mins from main station, even less from Bad Cannstatt that has also a train station. The walls are very solid, the balcony is kind of a green house with windows and the doors are double so despite it being next to team and street it's quiet. Even other guests cannot disturb you thanks to the double door. The stuff is great, friendly, bit funny mode, 24/7 present.
